We fix the leak, not just the stain
The spot on your ceiling is almost never directly under the hole. Water gets in at one point, runs along the framing, and shows up somewhere else entirely. Chase the stain and you’ll patch the wrong place, which is why so many leaks come back.
We trace the leak to its real source, fix it properly, and make sure it holds. If your roof has more going on than one bad spot, we’ll tell you that too, honestly.
Where leaks start
The usual suspects behind a roof leak
Most leaks start in a handful of predictable places. Here’s where we look first.
Flashing around chimneys and vents
Flashing seals the joints where the roof meets something else. When it lifts or corrodes, water pours in. This is one of the most common leak sources.
Valleys where two roof planes meet
Valleys carry a lot of water. If the material there is worn or was installed poorly, that’s a frequent leak point.
Cracked, curled, or missing shingles
Once a shingle fails, the layer underneath is exposed. A few bad shingles can be repaired before they become a bigger problem.
Around skylights and roof penetrations
Anything that pokes through the roof is a potential leak point. The seal breaks down over time and lets water sneak in.

Why homeowners choose us
Straight answers to the worries we hear most
Maybe you’ve been burned before, or you’re worried you will be. Here’s what makes us different.
“My roofer took the deposit and disappeared.”
We hear this one a lot, and it’s part of why Jen started Roofing Utah. We treat every job as a real commitment to your home. That means showing up when we say we will and finishing what we start. And if something needs attention down the road, we’re still here to take the call.
“The leak came back a week later.”
If a repair doesn’t hold, it wasn’t really a repair. So we look for what’s actually causing the leak instead of just covering the spot that’s easiest to reach. We use the right materials and install them properly, so the next rainstorm isn’t a reason to worry.
“I can't tell if I need a repair or a replacement.”
This is one of the most common spots to be stuck in, and it’s where a lot of homeowners get pushed toward the priciest option. We’ll give you an honest read instead. Sometimes a repair is all you need. Other times, replacing the roof is the smarter call over the long run. We’ll tell you which one it is and why.
“Storm chasers keep showing up at my door.”
After a big storm, out-of-town crews show up uninvited, promise a great deal, and ask for money upfront. Some of them you never see again. We’re a local company based in Roy, working across Ogden, Davis County, and the Salt Lake Valley. We were here before the storm and we’ll be here after it, which matters when you need someone to stand behind the work.
“I have no idea if my insurance will cover this.”
Insurance claims are confusing, and most roofers leave you to sort it out on your own. We don’t. We’ll help you document the damage, figure out what your policy actually covers, and handle the paperwork the insurer wants. Whether it was hail, wind, or one of those classic Wasatch Front storms, having someone who knows the claims process makes a real difference.

FAQs
Questions Utah homeowners ask us
Clear answers, no runaround.
How much does it cost to fix a roof leak?
It depends on the source and how easy it is to reach. A simple flashing or shingle fix is inexpensive; a leak tied to a bigger problem costs more. You’ll get an honest quote first.
Why does my roof keep leaking after it was repaired?
Usually because the first repair covered the wrong spot. Water travels, so the fix has to address where the water actually enters, not where it shows up inside.
Can you fix a leak in the rain?
We can often stabilize an active leak quickly to stop the damage, then do the full repair once conditions allow. We handle emergencies.
Is a roof leak an emergency?
If water is actively coming into your home, treat it like one. Call us and we’ll get it stopped before it damages more.
Will one leak mean I need a new roof?
Not usually. Many leaks are isolated and repairable. If the roof is old or failing broadly, we’ll give you a straight assessment.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Jen Silver
Jen Silver founded Roofing Utah in 2019. By then she’d already spent years in the Utah roofing business, starting out on the phones in inside sales and working her way up to general manager of a local roofing company, where she nearly doubled its annual sales in under two years.
She built Roofing Utah to be a contractor homeowners could count on from the first call to the final walkthrough. Today it’s one of the fastest-growing roofing companies in Utah, and Jen is a founding member of Women-Owned Businesses of Northern Utah.
