Insurance Claims Help
We work with your adjuster
The adjuster visit is the moment that matters
After you file, your insurance company sends an adjuster to inspect the roof and decide what they’ll pay. Their job is to assess the damage fairly, but they’re also working for the insurer, and they see a lot of roofs in a day. What they write down largely determines your payout.
You don’t need to be adversarial about it. You just need the inspection to be thorough and accurate, which is exactly why we recommend having your roofer on site.
Be ready
How to prepare for the adjuster
A little preparation makes the visit go smoothly and protects your claim.
Have your documentation ready
Your photo report, the date of the storm, and your claim number. The more organized you are, the more seriously the claim is taken.
Have your roofer there
This is the big one. A roofer who knows what adjusters look for can point out damage on the roof that’s easy to miss from a quick walk, and back it up.
Don't exaggerate, don't minimize
Be honest and factual. Adjusters deal with inflated claims constantly, so a straight, well-documented account carries more weight.
Take notes
Write down what the adjuster says they’ll cover and what they won’t. If something legitimate gets left out, you’ll want that on record.
After the visit
What happens next
The adjuster’s report turns into an estimate. Here’s how to handle it.
Review the scope of work
The insurer sends an itemized estimate of what they’ll pay for. Have your roofer compare it to the actual damage, missed or underpriced items are common and fixable.
Push back with evidence, not emotion
If the estimate misses real damage, the way to fix it is more documentation and a supplemental request, not an argument. We help homeowners put that together.
If you still can't agree, there's appraisal
When you and the insurer genuinely disagree on the amount, the appraisal clause in your policy exists to settle it. That’s a service we offer.

Why homeowners choose us
Straight answers to the worries we hear most
Maybe you’ve been burned before, or you’re worried you will be. Here’s what makes us different.
“My roofer took the deposit and disappeared.”
We hear this one a lot, and it’s part of why Jen started Roofing Utah. We treat every job as a real commitment to your home. That means showing up when we say we will and finishing what we start. And if something needs attention down the road, we’re still here to take the call.
“The leak came back a week later.”
If a repair doesn’t hold, it wasn’t really a repair. So we look for what’s actually causing the leak instead of just covering the spot that’s easiest to reach. We use the right materials and install them properly, so the next rainstorm isn’t a reason to worry.
“I can't tell if I need a repair or a replacement.”
This is one of the most common spots to be stuck in, and it’s where a lot of homeowners get pushed toward the priciest option. We’ll give you an honest read instead. Sometimes a repair is all you need. Other times, replacing the roof is the smarter call over the long run. We’ll tell you which one it is and why.
“Storm chasers keep showing up at my door.”
After a big storm, out-of-town crews show up uninvited, promise a great deal, and ask for money upfront. Some of them you never see again. We’re a local company based in Roy, working across Ogden, Davis County, and the Salt Lake Valley. We were here before the storm and we’ll be here after it, which matters when you need someone to stand behind the work.
“I have no idea if my insurance will cover this.”
Insurance claims are confusing, and most roofers leave you to sort it out on your own. We don’t. We’ll help you document the damage, figure out what your policy actually covers, and handle the paperwork the insurer wants. Whether it was hail, wind, or one of those classic Wasatch Front storms, having someone who knows the claims process makes a real difference.

FAQs
Questions Utah homeowners ask us
Clear answers, no runaround.
Can my roofer be present when the adjuster comes?
Yes, and we recommend it. We regularly meet adjusters on site. It helps make sure the inspection is thorough and the report reflects the real damage.
What if I disagree with the adjuster's assessment?
Start with better documentation and a supplemental request for anything legitimate that was missed. If you still can’t agree on the amount, the appraisal process is the next step.
Is the adjuster on my side?
The adjuster’s job is to assess the damage for the insurer. Most are fair, but they work fast and can miss things, which is why your own documentation and roofer matter.
How long after the adjuster visit until I get paid?
It varies by insurer, but many policies pay in two parts, an initial payment, then the rest once the work is completed and documented.
What is a supplement?
A supplemental claim is a request to cover damage or costs the original estimate missed. They’re routine, and a good roofer will handle the documentation for you.
