A new roof built for Salt Lake weather
Salt Lake City is hard on roofs. Heavy winter snow, sharp freeze-thaw swings, strong high-altitude sun, and canyon winds all wear a roof down faster than a milder climate would. When it’s time for a new one, you want a crew that installs for those conditions, not one that shows up after a storm and disappears.
We’re based in Roy and work throughout Salt Lake City and the surrounding valley. We’ll assess your roof honestly, lay out your options and the cost, and install a roof that’s ready for whatever the next Utah winter brings.
Why Salt Lake roofs wear out faster
Snow load and ice dams
Salt Lake winters pile real weight on a roof, and poor ventilation leads to ice dams that force water back under the shingles. We build with proper underlayment and ventilation so your roof handles the snow instead of fighting it.
Freeze-thaw and UV
Temperatures that swing above and below freezing, over and over, crack aging shingles. Add intense sun at altitude and materials break down faster here than most places. We use products rated for exactly this.
Permits and code
Roof replacements in the Salt Lake area need to be done to code, and we handle that so you don’t have to think about it.
When's the best time to replace a roof here?
Late spring through fall is the easiest window, with dry, mild weather that’s kind to a new install. That said, we work year-round, and a roof that’s actively leaking shouldn’t wait for perfect weather. If your roof needs to go now, we’ll get it done.
Why homeowners choose us
Straight answers to the worries we hear most
Maybe you’ve been burned before, or you’re worried you will be. Here’s what makes us different.
“My roofer took the deposit and disappeared.”
We hear this one a lot, and it’s part of why Jen started Roofing Utah. We treat every job as a real commitment to your home. That means showing up when we say we will and finishing what we start. And if something needs attention down the road, we’re still here to take the call.
“The leak came back a week later.”
If a repair doesn’t hold, it wasn’t really a repair. So we look for what’s actually causing the leak instead of just covering the spot that’s easiest to reach. We use the right materials and install them properly, so the next rainstorm isn’t a reason to worry.
“I can't tell if I need a repair or a replacement.”
This is one of the most common spots to be stuck in, and it’s where a lot of homeowners get pushed toward the priciest option. We’ll give you an honest read instead. Sometimes a repair is all you need. Other times, replacing the roof is the smarter call over the long run. We’ll tell you which one it is and why.
“Storm chasers keep showing up at my door.”
After a big storm, out-of-town crews show up uninvited, promise a great deal, and ask for money upfront. Some of them you never see again. We’re a local company based in Roy, working across Ogden, Davis County, and the Salt Lake Valley. We were here before the storm and we’ll be here after it, which matters when you need someone to stand behind the work.
“I have no idea if my insurance will cover this.”
Insurance claims are confusing, and most roofers leave you to sort it out on your own. We don’t. We’ll help you document the damage, figure out what your policy actually covers, and handle the paperwork the insurer wants. Whether it was hail, wind, or one of those classic Wasatch Front storms, having someone who knows the claims process makes a real difference.

FAQs
Questions Utah homeowners ask us
Clear answers, no runaround.

It depends on the size of your roof, the material, and its current condition. We put together a full Utah cost guide, and every quote is itemized so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Salt Lake City?
Yes, roof replacements need to meet local code and permitting. We handle the permit side as part of the job.
When is the best time to replace a roof in Utah?
