Spend less time cleaning gutters
Gutter guards are covers that let water in while keeping leaves, pine needles, and debris out. The payoff is simple: gutters that stay clear far longer, less climbing up a ladder to scoop them out, and less risk of the clogs that cause overflow and ice dams.
They’re not magic, no guard makes gutters completely maintenance-free, but for the right home, especially one with a lot of trees, they save real time and hassle. We’ll give you an honest take on whether they’re worth it for you.
The details
What gutter guards do (and don't do)
Straight talk so you know what you’re buying.
They keep the big stuff out
Leaves, twigs, and pine needles are what clog gutters and cause overflow. Good guards block those while letting water through, so clogs become rare.
They cut down on cleaning
You’ll spend far less time clearing gutters. Most systems still need an occasional check, but nothing like scooping them out every season.
They help against ice dams
By keeping gutters flowing, guards reduce the trapped water that freezes at the eaves and feeds ice dams, a real plus in Utah winters.
They're not fully maintenance-free
Fine debris can still collect on top, and no guard is a total set-and-forget. Any company that claims otherwise is overselling. We’ll be straight about it.
Wondering if guards are worth it for your home?
If you’ve got a lot of trees and you’re sick of cleaning gutters, they probably are. We’ll tell you honestly.
Why homeowners choose us
Straight answers to the worries we hear most
Maybe you’ve been burned before, or you’re worried you will be. Here’s what makes us different.
“My roofer took the deposit and disappeared.”
We hear this one a lot, and it’s part of why Jen started Roofing Utah. We treat every job as a real commitment to your home. That means showing up when we say we will and finishing what we start. And if something needs attention down the road, we’re still here to take the call.
“The leak came back a week later.”
If a repair doesn’t hold, it wasn’t really a repair. So we look for what’s actually causing the leak instead of just covering the spot that’s easiest to reach. We use the right materials and install them properly, so the next rainstorm isn’t a reason to worry.
“I can't tell if I need a repair or a replacement.”
This is one of the most common spots to be stuck in, and it’s where a lot of homeowners get pushed toward the priciest option. We’ll give you an honest read instead. Sometimes a repair is all you need. Other times, replacing the roof is the smarter call over the long run. We’ll tell you which one it is and why.
“Storm chasers keep showing up at my door.”
After a big storm, out-of-town crews show up uninvited, promise a great deal, and ask for money upfront. Some of them you never see again. We’re a local company based in Roy, working across Ogden, Davis County, and the Salt Lake Valley. We were here before the storm and we’ll be here after it, which matters when you need someone to stand behind the work.
“I have no idea if my insurance will cover this.”
Insurance claims are confusing, and most roofers leave you to sort it out on your own. We don’t. We’ll help you document the damage, figure out what your policy actually covers, and handle the paperwork the insurer wants. Whether it was hail, wind, or one of those classic Wasatch Front storms, having someone who knows the claims process makes a real difference.

FAQs
Questions Utah homeowners ask us
Clear answers, no runaround.
Are gutter guards worth it?
For homes with a lot of leaves or pine needles, usually yes, they save you from constant cleaning and reduce clogs. For a home with few trees, the payback is smaller. We’ll give you an honest recommendation.
Do gutter guards mean I never clean my gutters again?
No, and be wary of anyone who promises that. Fine debris can still collect, so an occasional check is smart. But guards dramatically cut down the work.
Do gutter guards help with ice dams?
They help by keeping gutters flowing so less water is trapped to freeze at the eaves. They’re one part of ice-dam prevention, along with attic insulation and ventilation.
Can you add guards to my existing gutters?
Often yes, if the gutters are in good shape. If the gutters themselves are failing, it’s usually better to replace them and add guards at the same time.
What kind of gutter guards do you install?
We’ll recommend a guard suited to your home and the debris you deal with, and explain the trade-offs, rather than pushing one product on every house.
